The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom features numerous classic gear pieces hidden throughout its massive subterranean map. Among these nostalgic collectibles are the Trousers of the Wild, a key component of the iconic hero ensemble returning from Breath of the Wild. Tracking down these legendary pants requires a venture into the dark depths of Hyrule's volcanic realm.
Locating the Eldin Dark Skeleton in the Depths
Finding the Trousers of the Wild takes players deep beneath the Eldin region in the Depths. The treasure chest holding this armor piece is hidden inside the massive skull of the Eldin Dark Skeleton. Adventurers can easily reach this area by fast-traveling to the Kayam Lightroot, which sits nearby in the northern region.
If you have not activated the Kayam Lightroot yet, heading north from the Fire Temple is another reliable route. Navigating toward the far northern section of the underground map will lead directly to the giant ancient remains. Keep an eye out for gloomed terrain and environmental hazards as you approach the giant fossilized skull.
How to Reach the Treasure Chest Inside the Skeleton
Once you arrive at the Eldin Dark Skeleton, make your way toward the head section of the fossil. The chest containing the Trousers of the Wild is situated inside the skull structure. Because the subterranean environment can be treacherous, using Brightbloom Seeds will make navigation much safer.
Players can either scale the side of the skull or position themselves underneath the structure to use the Ascend ability. Ascending directly into the head cavity allows you to bypass tricky climbing and avoid gloom on the cavern floor. Open the chest sitting inside to add the legendary leg armor to your inventory.
Upgrading and Completing the Wild Armor Set
The Trousers of the Wild offer solid base defense that can be enhanced by visiting Great Fairies across Hyrule. Upgrading this piece requires specific materials, including Acorns, Courser Bee Honey, and dragon materials from Farosh. Enhancing the armor increases Link's overall survival rate against high-level combat encounters.
To obtain the full set, players must also collect the Cap of the Wild and the Tunic of the Wild. These companion pieces are similarly concealed within the Hebra Dark Skeleton and Gerudo Dark Skeleton. Gathering all three garments restores Link's signature outfit in Tears of the Kingdom.
